Youth hymns: We got very lost and took a wrong turn.

Your way into filmmaking was like... / When did you guys started to work together as a collective?

We never actually planned to become directors. All of us met playing in various bands. After working on different musical projects between us, we thought (with no experience) that we’d have a bash at making some music videos!

How would you describe your work?

Ludicrous, decadent and scandalous.

How did you find your visual language?

We got very lost and took a wrong turn.

Your videos contain a lot of humor, why is humor so important for a video?

Well, it’s all doom and gloom right now and we've always had trouble growing up – so we love the absurd and fun. Reality sucks.

Covid-19, the lockdown, was a change for everyone. How did you manage to keep working on projects? What was different than the usual workflow? Anything you might have learned for your regular routine from working during lockdown?

We’ve always been heavily involved with our own post-production, so we were born ready for lockdown. We’re used to working from home - however, directing an Afghan Hound and crew via Zoom was perhaps a little different to our usual process!

Do you see your videos as a mirror of society? As they are quite stimulating, do you think this is what people nowadays are looking for: stimulation by creating unreal worlds?

Everyone craves escapism, especially now. We may as well have fun with it.
